Sharon Salzberg

​World renowned meditation teacher, visionary, and NYT best-selling author, Sharon Salzberg, is one of the early pioneers who set the stage for the present meditation culture that is immensely popular today. She is the co-founder of one of the most prestigious and respected meditation retreats in the world.

Sharon has played a pivotal role bringing meditation and mindfulness into mainstream American culture since 1974. She is the co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society, in Barre, Massachusetts and has authored ten books, including the New York Times bestseller Real Happiness, her seminal work Lovingkindness, and her 2017 release Real Love: The Art of Mindful Connection.

Sharon is a monthly columnist for On Being, a regular contributor to the Huffington Post, and was a contributing editor of Oprah’s O Magazine for several years. To name a few, she has appeared in Time Magazine, msnbc.com, Tricycle, Buddhadharma, More and Shambhala Sun, as well as on a variety of radio programs. Sharon is also the host of her own podcast, The Metta Hour, with 100+ episodes featuring interviews with top leaders and voices in the meditation and mindfulness movement.
